One Page A Day Challenge

February 1st, 2008 · No Comments

After a pitiful start to 2008 posting-wise, I came across this One Page A Day Challenge on Eric Giguere’s blog.

It seems like the perfect excuse to kick-start this blog (again!) and has a great prize for all those who complete the challenge - Eric’s Uncommon Adsense e-book.

I really like the idea that everyone gets a prize as it’s going to be hard work posting every day, but there’s an added bonus - links every day from Eric’s blog to each contestant’s content.

So, what sort of content to generate and where?

I’ve decided it would fun to create an affiliate campaign specifically for this challenge and write an “anatomy” over the course of the month.

This will mean I can create and link to content on this blog as well as on the site promoting the campaign.

The rules of Eric’s contest state that all content must be unique and public which poses an interesting dilemma - most affiliate campaigns are kept “secret” to prevent ne’er do wells wrecking them with fierce PPC bidding strategies or even worse, illegal ad clicking.

I’m keen to be as open as possible with this challenge and it will be great to get feedback and tips on landing pages/ads etc. so I will run a limited PPC campaign across the three networks (I need the practice with AdCenter and Yahoo!) and see how it goes.

Tomorrow, I’ll start the process by selecting the niche, affiliate network and merchants.
